What information is being collected at HPGOP.com?

  • We only collect information that you give us: We do not put any coding into our site to steal information from your computer and we do not force you to accept cookies or send anything to you to download. Any and all information that is collected is collected by you directly entering that information into a form that we have provided. In some cases, that is just your email address. In other cases, it is your name and phone, and in other cases it is even more complete. As we try to build a database and mailing list, we are away that there is the possibility that someone else may put in your information. Although we cannot prevent this, we can quickly take your name off our mailing list should you request us to do so. All information we request from you is for a reason, either to build a complete picture of you to adhere to the laws we are bound by, or merely to have a way to contact you. If you do not want to provide for us any information online, we can accomodate you with a more tangible method of contact.

  • How we use log files to better serve you: We use log files to assess the aggregate level of traffic to HPGOP.com including what pages people are visiting, and to diagnose any potential problems with the Web site. This log file does contain an “Internet Protocol” or IP address that gives us insight on the general geographic area that visitors are coming from but not information on a specific individual. We do not use log files to track a particular individual’s use of HPGOP.com. All users remain anonymous unless they choose to give us personally identifiable information.

  • Information collected when you donate: When you make a contribution to the High Point Republcian Party, state law requires us to obtain the following information: name, mailing address, employer, occupation, and amount of contribution. Federal law requires us to report this information to the Federal Election Commission if an individual’s contribution or contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in a single election cycle. Contributions from corporations, government contractors, foreign nationals without a “green card,” and minors (individuals under the age of 18) are prohibited. Any credit card information provided is only used to immediately process your donation. We do not retain your credit card information once the donation is processed online.

  • We ask that children under 18 do not submit their information: In accordance with the Federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), HPGOP.com does not knowingly collect information from children. In accordance with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), the High Point Township Republicans will never knowingly collect personal identifiable information from persons thirteen years old or younger.

How is the information collected at HPGOP.com used?

  • We will not sell your personal information. Under no circumstances will the RNC sell your information to third parties or any commercial entities.

  • We may share your information with like-minded organizations. We may share information that you provide us with other local organizations such as the Guilford County Republican Party or the State Republican Party. We will never share your information with an entity that is not in like mind with our goals.

Is my information secure?

  • Protecting information you provide via HPGOP.com. The High Point Republican Party makes every effort to keep your information out of the hands of those who should not have it. We have enabled our site to have an SSL connection (the most secure connection possible) to our partners who collect your credit card information.

    HPGOP.com uses Google Checkout and Paypal for credit card and check processing. Both services are secure and trusted companies that will serve you well and not let your information be compromised.

  • HPGOP.com links to other sites: We do link to other websites. We make no claims to the security of those other sites. We have linked you to those sites because of content. We have no control over their policies. If you have questions about those links, you can contact the webmasters of those sites. We claim no responsibility for any result of going to another site. We encourage you to read the privacy statements on each Web site you visit.

    The HPGOP website provides links to news and opinions that we think are timely or interesting. We only link to those sites for your convienience and do not claim any ownership or copyright of anything we may provide a link to unless otherwise noted..

Can I change my information or opt out of RNC e-mailings?

  • How to unsubscribe from our email list: If you have been placed on an email list without your knowledge, or prefer to be taken off, simply reply to the mailer of the email and state in any fashion you see fit to let us know you would like to be removed.

    When you register in any way with us, please know that you are opting to receive these emails by providing your email address. All signups for email communications and other features of our Web site are voluntary. We give you the opportunity to opt-in and we give you the power to opt-out of email communications. Should you wish to opt-out, an unsubscribe link is included in every e-mail.
